Employee Highlight: Chris Love

Chris Love has built his reputation on a few key principles but when it comes to his work life his foundation is built on fast, accurate, and dependable results.

“Speed wins,” he says. “If you can move fast and still get it right, customers notice—and they stick with you.”

It’s a philosophy he lives by now—but the road that led him to TK Supplies? That took some time. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait—and for Chris, TK Supplies was worth the wait.

From YMCA to TK

Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Chris’s early career was a patchwork of roles. He started out at the YMCA running before- and after-school childcare programs, then moved into retail with Dick’s Sporting Goods. Later, he joined the Sheriff’s Department, then bounced back to retail again.

“It was a hodgepodge of jobs,” he says. “I’d get unhappy, move on, and try something else. I struggled to find a solid fit.”

Eventually, Chris landed at a major packaging company. And while the work taught him plenty, the rigid corporate culture wore him down.

“They piled on work, they didn’t listen, and you were just another number on a spreadsheet,” Chris recalls. “It wasn’t fun anymore. I was burned out.”

So when Jeff Edwards, Owner of TK Supplies reached out about a role, Chris was skeptical.

“I told him I didn’t think I could be happy in this industry anymore,” he admits.

But Jeff didn’t give up. A few months later, as COVID chaos set in, Jeff called again: “Are you ready to come back yet?”

Chris said yes. He was willing to give it a try.

And the rest is history.

A Different Kind of Company

From his very first day, Chris knew TK Supplies was something different.

At his previous job, the environment was rigid, and they were constantly ignoring input, and treating employees like they were replaceable. “It was just another corporate grind,” he says. “You were a number on a spreadsheet. Nobody cared how you were holding up as long as the work got done. It burned me out.”

TK was a breath of fresh air.

“TK doesn’t have the rigid corporate feel. It’s family-owned, it’s honest, and it’s just… better,” Chris explains. “In the corporate world, they throw around fancy phrases and corporate mantras, but half the time it doesn’t mean anything. At TK, we actually deliver what we promise. We stand behind what we say we can do. That makes all the difference.”

It’s that integrity—and the way TK treats its people—that makes coming to work every day easy for Chris.

“When you work somewhere that cares about you, that sees you as a person, not just a number, it changes everything,” he says. “It’s a lot easier to get out of bed in the morning when you actually want to work for the company you’re working for. Here, I feel like I matter and that drives me to give customers the same experience. Honest, dependable, and real.”

What Drives Him

What Chris enjoys most about his role at TK is the people. Working with sales team, customers, manufacturers, and building real relationships rooted in trust.

“It’s not just about transactions,” he says. “It’s about getting to know people, understanding what they need, and standing behind what we offer. At TK, we do what we say we’re going to do. That matters.”

For Chris, it’s not just about selling a product, it’s about solving a problem and making someone else’s job easier. He takes pride in being dependable, quick, and honest with everyone he works with. “You have to earn people’s trust,” he explains. “That comes from showing up every time, keeping your word, and delivering when it counts.”

That mindset doesn’t just motivate him professionally—it also shapes how he approaches each day. After years of feeling replaceable and burnt out in a corporate environment, Chris finds real motivation in knowing he’s part of something better.

“Working at TK reminds me why I got into this industry in the first place,” he says. “You’re not just a name on a list here. You matter. You make a difference—for your team and your customers. That’s what keeps me going.”

Strengths You Can Count On

With nearly 15 years of experience in the industry, Chris brings deep knowledge of product lines, manufacturers, and how to get things done—fast.

If you ask him what his strengths are, he won’t sugarcoat it:

  • Knowledge
  • Speed and efficiency
  • Dependability
  • Honesty
  • Accuracy
  • Follow-through

“If I don’t know the answer, I’ll find it—and fast,” he says. “You won’t be waiting around a month later still wondering where I am. I’ll get it for you.”

Why It Works

At the end of the day, Chris believes the secret is simple: speed, accuracy, and integrity.

“Speed with an eye for accuracy creates wins,” he says. “It beats the competition every time.”

And for Chris, working at TK isn’t just about having a job—it’s about finally finding a company that lets him work the way he believes business should be done: fast, honest, and personal.
